Eckerö Post and Customs House
The Eckerö Post and Customs House was built in 1828 and designed in the Empire style by architect Carl Ludvig Engel. It is considered one of Engel's most important secular buildings. The building served as the Russian Empire's border station towards Sweden and holds an important place in Åland's history.
The building and its surroundings form a significant part of Åland's cultural heritage and are closely linked to the historic Postal Route between Sweden and Finland.
Every summer, exhibitions are held featuring themes such as local crafts, art, and cultural history.
